Well, the summer is over and so is the wait! Season 3 of Star Wars The Clone Wars is finally upon us and it is going to be good! I just got back from San Francisco, where we had the premiere and I got to see the first two episodes that will air on Friday, September 17th at 9 PM on Cartoon Network. These two episodes BLEW ME AWAY!!! Dave Filoni and the entire cast and crew of the show have out done themselves again. I know I am biased but please check it out because what they are accomplishing is truly state of the art. It is without a doubt the most advanced animated show on television.
I will keep this blog spoiler free but here are a few thoughts….
1.) These first two episodes are Ahsoka-less and are all about the Clones (no worries Ahsoka has some amazing episodes coming up in Season 3). To sum up these first two episodes, I have three words for you. DEE BRADLEY BAKER. WOW!!!!!! If you are want to become a voice-over actor, study these two episodes because Dee will give you a master class in how it should be done. Dee is the voice of all of the Clones and his performance is remarkable. Congratulations Dee on a job well done.
2.) The writing is awesome! These episodes are touching and there are some great lessons to be learned here. If you liked “Rookies” from season 1, you’ll love these episodes!
3.) Shaak Ti and Asajj Ventress!!!!!!!!!
4.) The water scenes…….. WOW!!!!!! Animation perfection!!!!!!
5.) I cried……
