I hope everyone is enjoying this fun holiday! Are you dressing up in costume today? What did you decide to be? I’ve heard from most of my friends on the east coast that were affected by Hurricane Sandy and most everyone made it through OK, and despite the mess, some are still going to celebrate Halloween! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was in the path of the storm.
I was going to dress up as the TARDIS tonight but due to yesterday’s BIG news, I have decided to wear my Princess Leia Hoodie and be Disney’s new Self Rescuing Princess! Many of you have been asking what I think about the acquisition. I don’t think it’s a secret that I find this to be very exciting!!! I think yesterday was a monumental day for Star Wars and Disney fans and I congratulate Mr. Lucas on this exciting announcement. Everyone’s aware that I am HUGE Disney fan. I grew up in Orlando and my Dad worked for Disney most of my life. Most of my childhood memories revolve around Disney and my first job was at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For the past four years, I’ve had the honor and privilege to work for both Disney and Lucasfilm on Disney’s Star Wars Weekends and I feel like I’ve developed a family from both companies. I know there are many questions that are yet to be answered and many concerns that are warranted, but I can assure you that there are amazing people from both companies coming together who want to keep the Star Wars legacy alive and who care deeply about preserving what’s special about this beloved franchise. Plus we get MORE Star Wars!!! That’s SOOOOOO exciting!
Finally, I wanted to share with you our first Her Universe pumpkin! Fellow fangirl Caroline sent me these photos and she was so kind to pick Her Universe as the theme for her pumpkin. Caroline is a huge Star Wars fan and even started her own blog teaching others how to make Ahsoka’s costume! Thanks so much Caroline for sending me these pics and great job! It’s looks awesome!
Happy Halloween and May The Force Be With You!
