MEET AMY BETH CHRISTENSON
Design: “Great Skirt, Marty!” – Back to the Future
The panel of celebrity judges chose Amy’s design based on Back to the Future as their favorite from the 36 designs presented during The Her Universe Fashion Show on July 24th.
Raised in a small farm town in Kansas, Amy Beth Christenson is a lifelong fan of movies and sci-fi. The Star Wars movies were her original inspiration to become an artist, and several years later she found herself working at Lucasfilm, after graduating from art school in 2000. She spent eleven years as a concept artist for LucasArts, working on several Star Wars titles including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I and II. She designed many of the characters and costumes for that series, and continued on as a concept designer for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television series from 2011-2013. She is currently a senior concept designer and visual development artist for the upcoming Star Wars: Rebels television series. Creating costumes and clothing is her greatest hobby, and she has won the annual ILM Halloween costume contest several times over the last 14 years by fabricating group costumes and props from some of her favorite movies.
