Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this Fangirl?
Because Fangirls have been around a lot longer than most people assume. I was born in 1951. I read my first Andre Norton book in 1963 (my mother collected SF novels!), and Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land in 1965.
How does this Fangirl express her fandom?
I changed my name legally to “T’Pell”. I *live* fandom, and have since the first episode of Star Trek TOS in 1966. I was a member of the Houston SF Society from 1970 to today. I’ve written a novel based on “City of Heroes”. I can go on, and on, and on…The photo I am enclosing: on the left, two photos of my dorm room at Christmas 1970…you can see the cover of the fanzine I created on the wall. On the right, 1989, the Blake’s 7 costume and props I made, and won a “Best Costume” award at a Blake’s 7 con.
What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
Any quote from Robert A. Heinlein
What is her favorite Fangirl item that she cannot live without?
My name? 🙂 Right now, I have a bunch of game aps on my tablet…I can’t go anywhere without it.
Where can we follow her online?
terraforming.com, although I haven’t updated it since I retired 2 years ago. I am “Athena Wilson” on Facebook. The global I use in MMOs is Linuial (Tolkien elvish for “Evening song”).
