For the past 9 months, this beautiful, caring, amazing woman has carried our future Padawan, saving lives as a nurse, and making the world a better place.
How does this Fangirl express her fandom?
Our daughter who is due on October 11th, the same day that “Ahsoka” will be released in bookstores, will be named “Mara Jade” after the Expanded Universe character created by Timothy Zahn. So other than naming our Padawan, she has also painted a tribute to Kenny Baker now sitting above Mara’s crib, she has made a mobile featuring Star Wars Tsum Tsums, and adorned the walls of Mara’s room with all kinds of Star Wars items. Mara, not even out of her mother yet, always squirms inside of Melanie whenever we watch anything related to Star Wars. She made a baby sized lightsaber handle to announce she was pregnant, and “pinked out” a stormtroopers helmet to announce we were having a girl.
