Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this Fangirl?
What’s unique about Kara is that she surprises people with her fandom. Once she was going to get a key made, and when she picked a Yoda key the man at the store asked if it was for her. When Kara said that it was for her the man said, “Really? You don’t look like the Star Wars type.” After that, Kara then surprised him by giving her opinion on Disney buying Star Wars. Kara says that she loves that about her unique brand of fangirl, and that it’s fun to surprise people and impress them a little bit.
How does this fangirl express her fandom?
Kara says that she represents her fandom by “repping it as much as possible.” She has a few Star Wars shirts that she loves to wear along with some other miscellaneous Star Wars merchandise. She has a huge Star Wars poster in her dorm that has every character and every ship on it, and Kara explained that it was the best $7 she ever spent. She also has Anakin’s lightsaber, and everyone who comes into her room loves to play with it.
What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
“To thine own self be true”-William Shakespeare.
“I love that quote because I used to have a hard time remaining true to myself because I wanted to fit in,” Kara explained. “But now I know that I’m happiest when I’m being me.”
What is her favorite fangirl item that she cannot live without?
Her Star Wars poster that she purchased for $7 at Michaels Craft store that has every character and ship ever depicted in the movies it. Although she’s had it for years and is little rough around the edges with age and wear, Kara will take that poster with her no matter where she lives because it’s her favorite fangirl item by far.
