Fangirl’s Occupation: Jen is a Junior Accounting Clerk for a large, regional grocery store chain. She holds a BA in English Literature, and in her spare time from work, she likes to write on a mystery novel series she has drafted out, as well as some fanfic.

She loves Marvel comics and Cinematic Universe, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, Disney, the DC TV universe, anything written by Jane Austen, and she’s a HUGE Captain America fan.
Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this Fangirl?
Because Jen does so much for others and rarely asks for anything in return. She’s an amazing friend, sister, and daughter, and she would do anything for anyone should they just ask.
How does this Fangirl express her fandom?
Jen expresses her fandoms by just being herself. She loves to talk about her interests with like-minded individuals; she attends conventions where she sits on fan-discussion panels of shows, books, and movies; she writes for the blog – Monsters of Geek – where she talks comics, television shows, movies, and all sorts of favorite things; and she loves to express her loves by wearing themed clothes: shirts, skirts, dresses, etc. Her motto on the clothes: “if someone sees you representing a fandom, that’s open invitation to come and talk if they enjoy it, too.”
What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
“It doesn’t do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” Jen feels that it expresses everything: chase your dreams, whatever they are, but don’t forget that you’re living a life in the process. “Make it the best one you can.”
What is her favorite Fangirl item that she cannot live without?
She always carries around a little figure of Captain America wherever she goes. She feels that she should be like Steve Rogers in accepting all people, in being loyal, believing in justice and equality, and standing up for what you believe in.
