Name of the Fangirl: Brittany
Fangirl’s Occupation: Freelance writer, owner of digitalairwaves.net
What is her fangirl interest?
Brittany ranges in a very vast array of fandoms ranging from comedies to sci-fi. She fangirls over Jamie Bamber and Michael Trucco constantly however. It’s really hard to pick just one or two when it comes to her.
Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this fangirl?
Brittany has been a friend of mine for several years now and over this course I’ve listened to her fangirl just about everything that she finds interesting. Her dedication to her fandoms has far exceeded what a normal person’s would be. She deserves some recognition, in my opinion, for her hard work and dedication to the subjects she loves. Not to mention, this is the girl that called me to squeal about Jamie shaking her hand and speaking with her. She’s very respectful towards the Battlestar Galactica fandom as well as any other fandoms that she covers.
How does this fangirl express her fandom?
How doesn’t she? She constantly tries to cover anything the Jamie has done as well as the other actors that were involved in the show. She geeks out over the littlest bits of news that happen to come across the airwaves or alerts concerning certain things. She’s also willing to help support them in any way she can by getting the news out about their projects and/or charities, etc.
What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
“This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and even it can inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it’s nothing but wires and lights in a box. There is a great and perhaps decisive battle to be fought against ignorance, intolerance and indifference. This weapon of television could be useful.” – a quote by Edward R. Murrow about television.
What is her favorite fangirl item that she cannot live without?
I would have to say that the most important thing she has concerning her fangirling that means something to her is a set of custom-made Battlestar Galactica dog tags after she met Michael Trucco. She had the characters name and the date she met him as the serial number engraved on it. It was her way of remembering the day she met him and that he had become a friend to her. It’s the most sentimental piece she owns concerning her one of her favorite fandoms.
