Name: Lilly C.
Location: Sacramento, CA
Bio: I love Star Wars. I’m a huge fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Fun fact about me is I can recite every episode in Star Wars Rebels in under 2 minutes. At my school I was elected to be historian on our Student Council just last May. I love porgs.
So many fandoms. What’s yours?
I think you can already tell but Star Wars Is my main fandom. This includes Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. I’m starting to get into Star vs. The Forces of Evil – I think it’s a pretty good show and that’s what I’ve been watching while I’m waiting for Star Wars Rebels season 4 to start. I’ve also been watching the new Forces of Destiny shorts and I think they’re a great way to get little girls in to Star Wars. My sister says she hates Star Wars, but when we went to Target on Force Friday she was begging my mom for a Star Wars Forces of Destiny shirt. It was hilarious!
How did you become interested in this fandom?
When I was seven my dad showed me The Empire Strikes Back and I fell in love with it. I eventually finished watching the whole saga. Sometime after, this new show called Star Wars Rebels came out. I watched it and loved it. I’ve watched it ever since. In December 2014, I watched The Clone Wars on Netflix for the first time. Of course, I was so excited when the new trilogy was announced because I would get to see a Star Wars movie in theaters. Star Wars is a huge part of me and I feel that it’s been a huge part of my childhood. One day in the future I hope to work at Lucasfilm. Today I had the honor to visit the Lucasfilm headquarters in San Francisco. It was pretty awesome.
What’s the best thing about being part of this fandom?
I am going to use Star Wars Celebration as an example; it’s incredible to see everyone come together in one place to appreciate something we all love. To see all the fan art, the cosplay, the things people can build or do and make out of this is astonishing. It makes me feel happy and I know I’m where I belong. Sometimes I get teased or people think I’m weird because I love Star Wars so much even my own family will think I’m a little off, but I just be myself anyway, and I’m happy with that.
