How did you become interested in this fandom?
It all began when I was a young girl asking my mother to borrow her VHS movies to watch in my spare time. I don’t remember the first time I saw the Star Wars trilogy, but I do remember watching them over and over again. I was fascinated with the world, connecting with Luke because of my father issue, and just being absorbed into the universe. Needless to say I was hooked and shortly after I started surrounding myself with books, puzzles, toys, and more based on the Trilogy. The rest they say is history.
What’s the best thing about being part of this fandom?
The best thing about the Star Wars fandom is that there is something for everyone. It is also a fandom that is constantly evolving from the Original Trilogy era, to the Prequel Trilogy era, to the long running Legends Universe, to the more inclusive and well represented era that we are in now. It is definitely a franchise that will be around for a very long time and you cannot forget to mention the collectibles. Who doesn’t love the collectibles?
As a fangirl, what are you most proud of?
I am proud to be living in a period now where, as a woman, I can connect with and express myself more than I ever could before. I am so glad that the girls who are growing today can experience and see that. It is definitely a wonderful time to be a fangirl and I cannot wait to see where we will go next.
