Fangirl’s Occupation: Wife, Mom, Full-time college student.
What is her Fangirl interest?
Star Wars (everything!), The Avengers (namely Tony Stark/Iron Man), Twilight, Firefly/Serenity, Star Trek, Grimm, Castle; as well as sports – Pam has season tickets to Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and is a HUGE Steelers fan!
Why did you decide to shine the spotlight on this Fangirl?
Pam is not just a “fangirl,” she is intimately passionate about these interests. She has devoted her innermost thoughts and feelings to many of the themes of these genres. Pam is a former Star Wars Hyperspace Blogger (as was I when the site was thriving), and she immediately drew me in with her insightful and emotion-provoking entries. We “met” online in spring 2006, met in person that fall, and have been fangirl soulmates ever since. Pam just “gets” what it means to be a true fan – her passion and dedication to what she loves is inspiring!
How does this Fangirl express her fandom?
How DOESN’T Pam express her fandom is the better question! Writing her insightful and thought-provoking writing pieces is just the tip of the iceberg. Pam collects, but the pieces she chooses always have an intimate relationship and personal reflection on some aspect of her life; she doesn’t just collect for the sake of collecting. She has books, artwork, memorabilia and a very large assortment of t-shirts and jewelry to reflect/promote her loves. Music is another way Pam relates to her fandom – she is very connected to the scores and soundtracks of the movies she loves.
What is her favorite quote or personal motto?
“I still believe in heroes”
“I know…”
“Live long and prosper”
“Genius. Billionaire. Playboy. Philanthropist.” – Tony Stark
What is her favorite Fangirl item that she cannot live without?
Her artwork (Padme Celebration IV print by Jason Palmer), Iron Man framed print. She keeps a Darth Vader figure in her school bag (he symbolizes redemption for her).
