“Geek Couture” has invaded the runways of mainstream fashion shows in New York and London, with Star Wars-infused designs by Rodarte and Preen. However, the “Geek Fashion” trend is nothing new to Ashley Eckstein and Her Universe, the first fashion line created especially for Fangirls! Now, Her Universe has teamed up with licensed apparel destination Hot Topic, and pop culture empire, Nerdist Industries, to bring the ultimate “Geek Couture” event to the largest premiere pop culture convention, the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.
Two years in the making, The Her Universe Fashion Show (July 24th at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel) will feature 36 new fashions created by 36 designers. This inaugural event has an incredible twist: Two lucky designers will win a grand prize, chosen by a panel of judges and the other chosen by the audience, to co-design with Ashley an exclusive Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic. This out-of-this world “Geek Couture” Fashion Show is THE “must see” event at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con!
